SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM
RULES and REGULATIONS
AWARDS:
The Metropolitan Society of
Kardamylians, Inc., has established a Scholastic Awards Program to
provide qualified applicants with an award in recognition of their
academic achievements in their college/university undergraduate studies.
This program is funded by fundraising events sponsored by the society
and from donations. The level of awards offered each year is determined
based on the funding of this program. This year an amount of $2,000.00
will be divided equally among all qualified applicants. The maximum
amount of the scholarship award, for each eligible applicant will be
$1,000.00 and the minimum $500.
ELIGIBILITY:
1)
An applicant
must be a member in good standing of MSK as defined in Article III of
the MSK Constitution and By-laws.
2)
An applicant
must have been a matriculated full time undergraduate student in an
accredited college or university in the U.S.A. for the 2021/2022 school
year (Fall 2021 – Spring 2022).
3)
An applicant
must fulfill the minimum course requirements of a full-time matriculated
student for each of the semesters in the 2021/2022 school year.
4)
An applicant
must have earned a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.500 or
better for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 Semesters.
5)
If an applicant
is currently a full time freshman, he/she must had achieved 1200 or
above SAT score or equivalent if other than SAT.
6)
The application
must be accompanied with the GPA transcript from the attended college or
university for the prescribed periods.
7)
The winners of
the awards or their parents or guardians must be present during the
Awards ceremony to receive their award.
8)
The date of
presentation of the Scholarship Award(s) will be January 29, 2023, during the
Society’s Vassilopita / Greek Letters Celebration, at the Kardamylitiko Spiti.
