SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

It
is with pleasure that we invite our young
students again this year to participate in our
Society’s scholastic awards program.
The awards offered are:
The Captain Michael & Irene Frangos
Memorial scholastic award for students
starting their college/university studies.
Sponsored every year by the children of
Captain Michael & Irene Frangos.
The Metropolitan Society of Kardamylians
scholastic awards for undergraduate
college/university studies.
The Metropolitan Society of Kardamylians
Greek Studies awards for Elementary Greek
studies.

We encourage our members to participate in
this program and are looking forward to the
opportunity to honor our qualified applicants.
The deadline for the applications to be
received by Society’s Scholarship Committee is
December 31, 2023.
The awards will be presented to the recipients
at the Society’s annual celebration of the
Vasilopita / Greek Letters Day that will be
held on January 28, 2023, at 3PM at the
Kardamylitiko Spiti in Brooklyn.
The children of the late Captain Michael and
Irene Frangos, George, John, and Anna, have
established and funded the Captain Michael &
Irene Frangos Memorial scholastic award that
provides $1,000 to the top qualified
applicant.
This Metropolitan Society Awards
program is funded by fundraising events
sponsored by the society and from donations.
The level of awards offered each year is
determined based on the funding of this
program. The amount of $2,000 will be divided
equally among all qualified applicants. The
maximum amount of the scholarship award for
each eligible applicant will be $1,000 and the
minimum $500.
The elementary
studies awards are $200 for each eligible
applicant.
Please consider financially supporting the
scholarships program. Any amount is more than
welcome.

The Metropolitan Society of Kardamylians, Inc.,
is a not for profit organization. It was established on December 1935 in Brooklyn, with the
purpose to help the Kardamylian immigrants .
Today the Organization's activities, consist of receiving and collecting funds for charitable and
educational purposes, as well as inculcating in its members the traditions,
history and customs of the ancestral home, Kardamyla and assure the continuance
of the educational process of the history of Kardamyla.
